As the world’s first chainsaw with electronically controlled fuel injection, the MS 500i-W sets a new standard for performance. The innovative STIHL Injection system continuously monitors operating conditions and automatically adjusts fuel delivery and ignition timing to provide optimum performance regardless of temperature, altitude or other environmental factors.
Producing 5.0kW of power, the MS 500i-W offers an outstanding power-to-weight ratio of just 1.24kg per kW, making it one of the lightest professional saws in its class. The result is a machine that delivers huge cutting performance while remaining agile and easy to manoeuvre during demanding forestry operations.
Unlike conventional carburettor-equipped chainsaws, the MS 500i-W features an exceptionally simple starting procedure. There is no separate starting position required, making operation quicker and more intuitive, while the electronically controlled fuel injection system ensures reliable starting and optimum running characteristics under all conditions.
The W version is equipped with electrically heated handles, providing improved comfort and control when working in cold or frosty weather. The maintenance-free heating elements help keep hands warm and maintain a secure grip, even during long winter working days.
With optimised bumper spikes, a redesigned sprocket cover, STIHL anti-vibration technology and advanced engine management, the MS 500i-W delivers an exceptional combination of power, control and operator comfort.
