Featuring Power Boost technology, increased torque, integrated oil monitoring and exceptional cutting performance, it delivers lightweight handling and professional-grade power for crown work, dismantling and tree maintenance.

The STIHL MSA 220.1 TC-O Cordless Top-Handle Chainsaw is the flagship cordless arborist chainsaw in the STIHL range, offering the highest cutting performance of any STIHL top-handle saw. Designed specifically for certified tree surgeons and arborists, it provides the power, balance and precision required for demanding aerial tree work.

Building on the success of the previous MSA 220 T and TC-O models, the MSA 220.1 TC-O delivers 10% more torque, improved performance and a lighter overall operating weight. This makes it ideal for tasks such as crown thinning, crown reduction, deadwood removal and sectional dismantling work.

Powered by the STIHL AP System, the chainsaw incorporates advanced Power Boost technology, allowing it to draw on the battery’s peak electrical output of 1.8 kW when additional cutting performance is required, whilst maintaining a standard output of 1.25 kW during normal operation. This ensures strong cutting performance in demanding situations without compromising efficiency.

The saw is fitted as standard with a 3/8″ P Picco Super 3 (PS3) chain and Light P04 guide bar, delivering outstanding cutting speed, precision and efficiency. Available with either a 12″ or 14″ guide bar, the MSA 220.1 TC-O can be tailored to suit different arboricultural applications.

Designed for maximum operator comfort, the saw offers excellent balance when paired with the recommended AP 200 S battery, helping reduce wrist strain and improve control during aerial operations. For users prioritising longer runtime, the AP 300 S battery can also be used.

An integrated LED information display provides key operating information at a glance, including chain brake status and low chain oil warnings from the built-in oil sensor. The electronic trigger system and unlock button enable simple and intuitive operation.

Additional professional features include side-mounted chain tensioning, a tool-free oil tank cap, captive sprocket cover nut, easy-clean air filtration and an IPX4-rated construction for reliable operation in wet weather conditions.

The ALLPRO AP 200 P battery provides the best balance to weight ratio for the MSA 220.1 TC-O, providing exceptional cordless performance for professional tree maintenance.
