Powered by a durable and efficient 2.8kW STIHL 2-MIX engine, the MS 291 delivers strong cutting performance whilst helping to reduce fuel consumption and emissions compared to previous-generation engines. The advanced engine design can reduce fuel consumption by up to 20% and emissions by up to 50%, making it both economical to run and more environmentally conscious.
Built to cope with regular use in challenging outdoor environments, the MS 291 features STIHL’s long-life air filtration system, which combines pre-separation technology with a high-performance HD2 air filter. This system removes larger particles before they reach the primary filter, significantly extending filter service intervals and helping protect the engine from wear.
The chainsaw is equally at home processing firewood, felling small to medium-sized trees, clearing storm damage, maintaining estates or carrying out agricultural and landscaping tasks. Its excellent balance of power, durability and user comfort makes it one of the most popular choices for professional landowners and serious domestic users alike.
To improve comfort during prolonged use, the MS 291 is equipped with STIHL’s professional anti-vibration system, which reduces vibration transfer to the handles and helps minimise operator fatigue.
