The STIHL GTA 40 Cordless Pruner is the first dedicated professional battery-powered pruner in the STIHL range. Designed for demanding users working in tree care, landscaping, horticulture and construction, it delivers powerful cutting performance in a compact and highly portable package.
Part of the STIHL AS System, the GTA 40 is powered by two AS 2 batteries operating in parallel to provide outstanding cutting performance and consistent power delivery. Its compact size makes it ideal for pruning trees and shrubs, crown reduction work, processing timber on-site and a wide range of maintenance tasks where a full-sized chainsaw would be unnecessary.
Fitted with a powerful EC motor and a high-performance ¼” PM3 saw chain, the GTA 40 produces clean, precise cuts whilst offering excellent control. Variable chain speed allows operators to adjust cutting performance to suit the material being processed, providing greater precision and efficiency during detailed pruning work.
Designed with professional ergonomics in mind, the GTA 40 features a soft rubberised handle and upper grip for secure handling during use. The specially designed claw-shaped deflector helps separate the guide area from the cutting attachment, increasing comfort and control when working in demanding conditions.
The integrated attachment points allow the pruner to be secured when working at height, while a practical attachment ring enables the tool to be carried conveniently on a belt when moving around a site. The onboard LED battery indicator keeps users informed of remaining power at a glance, helping avoid unexpected downtime.
Built for professional environments, the GTA 40 features automatic chain lubrication, side-mounted chain tensioning, a tool-free oil reservoir and IPX4-rated splash protection for reliable operation in challenging weather conditions.
